Highland High School

Highland High School is a Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accredited school serving  9th through 12th grade students in West Palmdale, California (U.S.A.).    As a comprehensive high school, Highland offers students a variety of curricular and extra curricular choices.

Highland opened its doors in 1989 at its temporary location behind Quartz Hill High School and moved into our permanent facility in 1991.   In 2006, Highland was designated a California Distinguished School.

Academically, students may choose from University preparatory and honors classes as well as classes designed to prepare students to enter the work force after graduation.  We offer both a robust special education department to assist students with learning disabilities and several honors programs including International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement.  Graduates must meet both Antelope Valley Union High School District and the State of California graduation requirements, including passage of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).

Highland offers students the opportunity to participate in a variety of intra school athletic programs at several levels of competitiveness.  Highland participates in Golden League of the California Interscholastic Federation.

Student extra curricular activities are primarily governed by the elected student government called the Associated Student Body of Highland High School (HHS ASB).  The ASB facilitates a variety of social events and after school clubs.
